Swim

The swim takes place in an indoor 25m pool and lifeguards will be on deck at all times.  Athletes will swim 2 per lane. There will be a maximum of 12 athletes per wave. One parent or guardian must accompany participants of the 3-5 age group in the water and on foot for the bike and run.

All athletes are welcome to use water wings or a life jacket (if desired). Life jackets will be supplied.  Flutter boards or flippers are not permitted. It is expected that athletes 6 years of age and older will not require assistance from a parent however special arrangements can be made.  There will be plenty of volunteers on hand to assist at any point during the race. Contact us with special requests or for specific details on the swim.

Bike

The bike course will be completed on traffic free roads around the grounds of the H2O Fitness Centre.

Bike Inspection Cyclepath Logo

In order to avoid disappointment on race day we strongly recommend that you take your bike in for a pre-race bike inspection the week before the race. Technical problems can easily be avoided.

Cyclepath Kelowna, located at 2169 Springfield Road in Kelowna, is our exclusive 'pre-race bike inspection' shop.  Drop in or give them a call at 250-868-0122 to make sure your bike is in racing condition! Have a look at their website at www.cyclepathkelowna.com for stores hours and directions. Be sure to tell them you're a TRi KiDS participant!

We strongly recommend that you take your bike in for a pre-race bike inspection the week before the race. Technical problems can easily be avoided. Bike inspection is not mandatory.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR CHILD'S BIKE?!?
It's alarming how many bikes may not be in safe working order. We often get feedback from the wonderful folks that offer their time to provide pre-race inspection and they conclude that many bikes are UNSAFELoose handlebar bolts, zero tire pressure, no working gears and brakes not functioning....these create dangerous situations for your children and put others at risk.  Spending a bit of time to check out their bikes will ensure a safe race.  We want to avoid disappointment if participants are unable to race at the last minute because of a technical issue that could have been avoided.

Kelowna Accommodations

We are pleased to have Lakeshore Inn as our host hotel for out of town participants.  Kelowna's Lakeshore Inn is located on beautiful Okanagan Lake and is less than 15 minutes from the race site.  TRi KiDS families can book a room starting at $179 for a Gardenside Double.  Visit the Lakeshore Inn online or call 1-877-657-5253 - be sure to tell them you are a TRi KiD!
